About our Livestream Ministry

Our iPhone Livestream rig from 2020 - Much improved since then!

One of the positive impacts of the Covid pandemic in our parish life was the launch and development of our Livestreaming Ministry. Starting immediately after the lockdown began in Spring 2020, we employed our existing technologies (iPhones streaming via Facebook, and laptop via Zoom) to enable parishioners and friends to view our services online. This is how we all got through Holy Week and Pascha 2020 in spite of only three people being allowed in the church at that time.

Over the Summer and Fall of 2020 we worked hard to improve our livestreaming quality, upgrading to Cincinnati Bell's high-speed fioptics, and installing both ethernet and a high-speed, high-capacity wifi router in the church. Along the way we also repurposed our parish HD camcorder as our main video capture device. Early in 2021 we installed a professional grade 4-microphone system with soundboard to improve our audio quality, and immediately after that we made the decision to standardize our livestreaming exclusively on our YouTube channel.

Of course, Orthodox Christian worship engages the whole person and all the senses, requiring active participation and involvement. Therefore livestreaming of the services can only take us so far. We hope that you will "Come and see" and join us for Great Vespers on Saturday evenings at 6:00pm, the Divine Liturgy on Sundays at 9:30am, and our many weekday services, special classes and events, and enter into the full life of our parish family.
